Changing Equation of Super Powers during Pandemic (Covid -19)

H. J. Morgenthau one of very prominent thinker of international relations, he defines the nature of international relations in his famous citation as: “politics are nothing, but it is a struggle for power” though, currently the situation is totally different as most of the countries in the world are facing the biggest crisis since World War II. They are affected by the devastating Corona virus disease COVID-19 (Corona virus disease is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered corona virus). They are witnessing great uncertainty and the Corona virus has put the world economy standstill. This is the main reason why currently super powers are not struggling for dominance; and only trying to sustain their economies.

Thought, it has started to change and now they are leaving their welfare frame of mind and started blaming each other. Australia has called for an inquiry into the origin of the COVID-19 and Germany and Britain are reiterating the same. But USA is on the top of this sequence. It is the only country which has openly blamed China for Covid-19 and alleged that the virus has emerged from a Chinese laboratory in Wuhan province (refer: G-7: What's there in a name)

The director of WHO Michael Ryan has said that “this remains speculative,” as they have not received any data or specifically relating to the purported origin of the virus. After that, the President Trump criticized the World Health Organisation and advised the director of the WHO to resign, while others have called for an international investigation. On the same day, the USA announced that they will be withholding the funding for the WHO and in the last week of May 2020 US President Donald Trump said that America is terminating its relationship with the World Health Organization as US has blamed it and China for the deaths of many and devastation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic across the globe. This announcement was clearly shown the dominating behaviour of the US and how it tries to protect its representation at the global level.  Though, China has provided medical aid to other countries with harsh nationalist expression and mixing demands for gratitude with economic threats. Moreover, China emphasizes its sympathetic side and rebuilds reliance and its reputation as a responsible global power. On the other side, China’s behaviour with respect to India is totally objectionable, as it is continuously interfering in India’s territories just to divert the media attention and to take the advantage of emergency situation. And also it wants to send a strong message to USA that they will not submit to the rising US dominance.

So it is clear that the present global situation is very similar to Cold War era after the two devastating world wars. Majority of economies has been divided into two groups, one which are supporting USA, just to take a stand against China and another group are supporting China which has emerged as a super power too.

Biodegradable Golf Balls: Eco-friendly Solution for every Golfer

Well, new studies are coming to light that the little golf ball is a big problem. As they break down they release their contents into the ecosystem. A modern golf ball is made from the following: thermoplastics, zinc oxide, zinc acrylate, benzoyl peroxide, heavy metals, polybutadiene, and other secret combinations of exotic materials not disclosed by the manufacturer. These are not good for the planet! Don't forget about the plastic portion of the ball either. As it breaks down the plastic turns into microplastics. From the deepest depths of the ocean to the snow of the Artic microplastics have been found by pollution researchers to invade every corner of our planet. The size of the current microplastic pollution problem is huge! Estimates are between 15 trillion and 51 trillion microplasti

Urban Sprawl: An Emerging Issue

Humans are becoming an increasingly urban species. They want to move to metropolitan cities and urban centres for better jobs opportunities or for the excitement of the city life. And this possess a really challenging developmental question of where are all these people going to go and if you live in a city, you might have noticed the expansion and the development of cities to suburbs and this is what we call urban sprawl. In 1937, Earle Draper - one of the first city planners in the south-eastern United States coined the term ‘sprawl.’ The urban sprawl is essentially the geographical expansion of a city or town and is often characterised as low density development, meaning housing is being built on really large land areas or scattered land locks, single use zoning and is also characterised by the increased reliance on private automobiles for each person transportation. The sprawl generally takes place in radial course around the city centre or in linear direction along the highways.
